Dog Licenses

All dogs 5 months or older must be licensed and should carry a tag. License tags for dog owners and kennels are $25.00 for each neutered male and each spayed female; $40.00 for each un-spayed female and each un-neutered male. In order to receive a license, this form MUST be completed including date of vaccination and expiration date, also a copy of rabies vaccination (including the vaccination date) from the veterinarian needs to be sent or brought in when getting your dog license. A copy will be made and kept on file at the town office. If you are mailing your dog license(s) application & fee, please enclose a self addressed, stamped envelope so the tags can be mailed to you.

A $5.00 late fee will be charged to every owner of a dog 5 months of age or over if the owner failed to obtain a license prior to April 1 of each year, or within 30 days of acquiring ownership of a licensable dog or if the owner failed to obtain a license on or before the dog reached licensable age. This late fee shall be charged in addition to the required license fee.

NOTICE TO DOG OWNERS

Stats. 95.21(10) PENALTIES. (a) Failure to obtain rabies vaccination. An owner who fails to have a dog vaccinated against rabies as required under sub. (2)(a) may be required to forfeit not less than $50.00 nor more than $100.00.

95.21 (2) RABIES VACCINATION REQUIREMENT FOR DOGS. (a) The owner of a dog shall have the dog vaccinated against rabies by a veterinarian within 30 days after the dog reaches 4 months of age and revaccinated within one year after the initial vaccination…. The owner of a dog shall have the dog revaccinated against rabies by a veterinarian before the date the immunization expires as stated on the certificate of vaccination or, if no date is specified, within 3 years after the previous vaccination.
